Three residencies for children's theater makers in Bremen
The LAFDK announces open CALLS for three residencies in 2022 as part of the project kindertheater_netzwerk Bremen. These are aimed at actors who develop and perform plays and projects for young audiences. The residencies offer the opportunity to devote themselves to a freely chosen topic in a rehearsal space that is barrier-free and suitable for dance.
The residencies invite the participants to experiment and develop new projects. The residents can decide how they would like to present their preliminary results to a professional audience.
The call is addressed to:
- Associations of three professional artists who develop and perform plays and projects for young audiences, regardless of their discipline.
- At least one person from the group should be artistically active in the state of Bremen.
- Cooperation between actors from the region and surrounding states is encouraged.
This is what the residents can expect:
- Fee in the amount of max. 750 € per person / 5-day week (brutto)
- Free use of the residence incl. available technical equipment
- Presentation of the work results in an informal setting in front of a professional audience
- Support from the kindertheater_netzwerk team in the areas of organization, administration and public relations
- Access requirements and care needs will be considered and supported as far as possible.
The time frame
Submission of a concept: June 24, 2022 (23:59)
Publication of the jury's decision: July 08, 2022
Residency #1 (5 days): Oct. 10-16, 2022
Residency #2 (5 days): November 07-13, 2022
Residency #3 (10 days): November 14-27, 2022
Presentation of the three residencies to a professional audience: November 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
The space
The Schlachthof Theater's small production space is located at Ladestraße 1 in Woltmershausen. It can be reached in less than 10 minutes from Bremen city center (stop "Bahnhof Neustadt" from the 24 bus or DB).
The room is equipped as follows: dance floor, mirrors, PA, lighting system, wheelchair access and barrier-free sanitary facilities / parking in front of the building, easy delivery via the ramp, the room can be completely darkened.
The jury
Melanie Florschütz (Berlin), puppeteer and co-founder of the artist duo "florschütz & döhnert", which tours worldwide with its mobile productions.
Grete Pagan (Stuttgart), freelance director for young theater, festival organizer and translator of English theater texts into German.
Fabian Eyer (Bremen), actor at MOKS, theater pedagogical work with children's youth ensembles.
Applications can be submitted via the application portal below (the portal is in German, application in English are accepted).
Deadline for application is 24.06.2022 (23:59).
